Prmotional Assessment

At Holy Heart, children are regularly assessed and tested twice a week in written and orally throughout the term. With teachers keeping a close eye on the progress of the children, much of this assessment is informed to the parents. More formal testing happens through the national curriculum assessment framed out for teachers through two terminal examinations held in August and February.

Promotion

Students are promoted to the next higher class only on the basis of the whole year’s work. A student is required to take part in all the annual activities whether academic or curricular. Due weightage is given to both these activities. To instill confidence and to develop a child’s personality, it is compulsory for every child to perform on stage during morning activities and annual activities. The student’s performance is assessed by the teachers throughout the year.

Assessment Scheme

• For promotion to the next class 50% of the marks obtained by the student in the two terms are computed.
• The child must pass in the main subjects i.e. English, Hindi, Punjabi, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies. Minimum pass percentage is 50 marks in each subject.
• For the better performance of a child, parents are requested to co - operate with the institution.
• Results are given around the dates mentioned in the school’s holiday list.
• Report cards of students receiving less than 50% marks, are handed over to the parents /guardians of the child.
• Please make it a point to respect our communication and meet the teachers as and when called for. Any lapse in this respect will be taken a serious note of.
• During the school’s working days, parents are allowed to meet the teachers before 8 30am only. The parents are not given permission to meet the staff after this time as it affects the teaching schedule of the students and thus disturbs the day’s schedule.

Note:

Students who remain absent in any subject/ test shall be considered failed in that subject and shall not be awarded any position. In case of genuine reasons like grave illness, a medical certificate of that effect should be produced.

Cash Rewards

In order to boost the morale of students school offers following lucrative incentives :

• If the child stands Ist in India, in ICSE std. Xth exam, a scholarship of Rs. 21,000 is given.
• If the child stands Ist in Dist., Asr. in ICSE std X exams, scholarship of Rs. 11,000 is given.
• If the child stands Ist in school he/she gets Rs. 5000 as a scholarship.
